Raja Muneeb Idrees Khan

I am the second child of my parents, Idrees and Haseena, and I have an older brother Shamoun who is 27, and a younger sister Shameela, who is 13.

My father is from the clan of Rajputs in the Punjab, and is the Director at the National Institute of Electronics in Islamabad Pakistan. He has worked ardently to install a technology infrastructure in Pakistan, and hopes for me to come back and do the same for the country. My mother is from the Tareen tribe of Pathans from Haripur. Her brother and cousins are active in politics in Pakistan, whenever we happen to get democracy in the country. My brother works as an engineer for Ericsson Inc. in North Carolina, and my sister is in middle school.

The Maair Minhas is a Rajput family that claims decent from the Hindu god's Brahma and Rama. This claim stems from the family tree passed down through generations through 'mirasees', or ordained memorizes of the family tree who sing the 'shajra' out. From the Rig Veda to the Mahabharata and Ramayana, much of Indian literature is kept record of through oral traditions (the Brahmans were responsible for the memorization in most cases).
