FRIENDS and years of REVELRY!!

I spent my entire life in Pakistan before coming to America. I went to school in Islamabad, did my O' Levels at Beacon House after which I went to the Islamabad School of Arts and Sciences. The pictures below are from Beacon House, grades 9-11th, and these were some of the craziest days of my life.

From left to right:

Ahsan Arif (Slayer), Raza Yousaf (Kodoo), Usman Ali (the Dangar), Sami Moin ('Aik aur Jeep!'), Sabahat Ahmad (Sabbi), Salman Jaffri (Twaifu), Hassan Zulfiqar (Dulfi), Muneeb Idrees (Munna), Sameer Malik (Dunti).

This was our first trip to Murree, and we  took this picture immediately after swinging/trailing/hanging onto a little trailer train on the mall road.

Muneeb, Sabi, Jaffri, Bilal M Khan (Bila), Ephraim Dean (Effi), and Usman Ali.

This was our second trip to Murree. We are seated at a campfire after an illustrious night of dancing on the Murree Mall, peeing on the Mall, mocking Uncle 'Cut piece', and initiating a fight with a gang of college hooligans.

This trip to Murree and Nathiagali was a whole lot of fun. Effi, Me, Raza and Jaffri are zoned out right now,    after a crazy day of tracking crazy Raza on the Murree Mall.

My friend Umair Saleem on the right, all decked up!

After my first year of A-levels in Pakistan I went to college in California. Whittier College in Los Angeles was a small private school with a population of 1200 students. I made many friends in LA, made trips down to Mexico with some of them, and learnt how to try my luck on surf boarding.

Martin Darland (left) and Me (in the center). Martin was on the football team at Whittier, was from the state of Washington, and a great buddy of mine. This picture was taken in Tijuana Mexico, after a long night of revelries in the town. On my right is Reggie, who also goes to Whittier College.

Sidharth Haksar (Sid) and Me at Venice Beach in L.A. Sid is a Kashmiri from India, and a die hard Indian Patriot (!!*&#), (as much as I hate and love that about him!). I called Sid a Titu-beetu, and was one of my closest friends.

After a year in California I transferred to the University of Florida. Spent a year and a half in the fun-filled college town of Gainesville.

Haider Hyat and Me at my farewell. Everyone called us the 'Twins', as Haider and I are very similar, and yet he and I are a foot apart in height.

Alex, Thy , Clarissa Rodriguez, Holly, Hemant, Serena, Hillary, Gina and Me in New York at a Model UN conference. This was one FUN FILLED bunch!

I was secretary at Model UN in Florida: List

Doc (Omer Qaiser) and Me getting married at Omer's farewell from the University of Florida. Holding the duppatta are Ali Reza (shown) and Ahmer Qasim (not shown). This is Doc and Ahmer's graduation farewell in Gainesville, a semester before I left the school.

Meenu Munshi and Me 'MCing' the VISA pageant show. I was treasurer for VISA which is an umbrella organization for  multicultural organizations at Florida, and was student government's most highly budgeted organization. Meenu was a great buddy of mine.

At the University of Virginia, (now I got to work on this part of the site!!!).  I was a regular member in the Jefferson Literary and Debating Society, the oldest society of its kind in the US: JEFF
